- E-mail is now even more accessible with UMC mobile services! You may have access to your e-mail box to receive and send e-mail messages anytime and anywhere within the UMC coverage zone and in roaming. Not only that, you may choose the method of accessing your e-mail box that would be the most convenient for you:
Via the WAP-browser in your phone
- If your mobile phone supports the WAP-technology, you can have access to the WAP-version of your e-mail messages service (for example: wap.gala.net, wap.mail.ru, wap.yahoo.com).
- To access the WAP-version of your e-mail messages service, you need to:
- activate any WAP-service for your number;
- set on your phone the profile for accessing the service;
- download the WAP-browser and, using the service you've selected, go to the WAP-site of your e-mail messages service.
Via the mail program in your phone
- To obtain access to your e-mail box using the built-in mail program in your phone, you need to:
- make sure that your mobile phone has a built-in mail program;
- activate Mobile Internet or Mobile GPRS-Internet services for your number;
- set on your phone the profile for accessing the Mobile Internet or Mobile GPRS-Internet services;
- set the mail program POP3/SMTP or IMAP - access to your e-mail box using the service you've selected.
Attention ! Please, when sending e-mail messages, use the UMC SMTP server: smtp.umc.ua
Via the Web-browser in your phone
- If your mobile phone supports the Web-technology, you may have access to the Web-version of your e-mail messages service (for example: www.gala.net, www.mail.ru, www.yahoo.com).
- To access the Web-version of your e-mail messages service, you need to:
- activate the Mobile Internet or Mobile GPRS-Internet services for your number and
- set your phone profile for accessing Mobile Internet or Mobile GPRS-Internet services;
- download the Web - browser and, using the service you've selected, go to the website of your e-mail messages service.
Via SMS
- Two variants exist for sending short text e-mail messages using SMS:
- via the UMC MENU service: enter the "E-mail" sub-point of the “Services” section of your phone's "UMC MENU". Then, following the phone's instructions, enter the recipient ' s e-mail address, type the text and send the message. The message will be sent using SMS, the cost of sending one e-mail message is the same as the cost of a usual outgoing SMS-message.
- via the usual SMS service:
- to send an e-mail message from your phone:
- go to the point from which you are able to create a new SMS-message on your mobile phone;
- directly in the text window, enter the recipient's e-mail address in the usual format ( login @ domain ). In the event there is no "@" symbol in your phone, it can be substituted with symbols "?" or " &";
- after the address, do not forget to type in a space. Then you can enter the s ubject of the message, marking it out with the exclamation sign ( "!" ) at the beginning and at the end;
- then enter the text of your message and send it to number 1010. The message volume must not exceed 160 characters. The message will be sent using SMS, and at the same cost for sending one e-mail message as the cost of a usual outgoing SMS-message.
- to send an e-mail message to a phone:
- write an e-mail message and send it to the address +38050XXXXXXX@sms.umc.com.ua, where XXXXXXX is the recipient's mobile number;
- please do not forget that the message volume must not exceed 160 characters. Also riiber that in case you use this method of sending a message, attachments and graphic images are not preserved.
